Personal Injury Lawyers Serving Scarborough & the GTA
A serious injury throws an entire life off course — lost income, mounting medical costs, and the constant uncertainty of whether you will fully recover. Our personal injury lawyers work on a contingency-fee basis: you pay nothing up front, and we are paid only when we recover for you. Every client meets with an experienced lawyer for a free, no-pressure case review.
Motor vehicle accidents and Accident Benefits
Every Ontario auto-insurance policy includes Statutory Accident Benefits (SABS) that pay for treatment, attendant care, lost income and other expenses regardless of fault. Filling out the OCF forms correctly, on time, and with the right medical evidence is the difference between a claim that pays and one that gets denied. We file your OCF-1 (application), OCF-2 (employer's confirmation), OCF-3 (disability certificate) and the supporting medical documentation correctly the first time.
Where another driver was at fault, a separate tort claim can be brought for pain and suffering, future income loss, future care, and family-law-claim damages. The tort threshold and the statutory deductible apply, but for serious injuries the recovery is often substantial.
Slip and fall claims
Ontario's Occupiers' Liability Act requires property owners and tenants to take reasonable care to keep their premises safe. We act for clients injured in falls at GTA shopping plazas, condominium common areas, restaurants, ice-covered parking lots and rental properties. A 10-day notice is required for falls on municipal sidewalks and snow-and-ice claims against many occupiers — call us immediately.
Long-term disability denials
If your insurer has denied or terminated your long-term disability benefits, the denial is rarely the last word. We have recovered six-figure settlements for clients whose claims were initially rejected. Litigation can also unlock retroactive benefits, future benefits to age 65 and, in appropriate cases, punitive damages.
How contingency fees actually work
You sign a contingency agreement at the outset. We advance the disbursements (medical reports, court fees, expert fees) and recover our legal fees as a percentage of the settlement — only if there is a recovery. Ontario law requires the agreement to be in writing and to comply with the Solicitors Act; we walk you through every line before you sign.
Don't wait — limitation periods are short
Most Ontario injury claims must be commenced within two years, but several types of notices are due in days, not years. Contact us for a free consultation as soon as possible after the accident.
