Lawyer Referral Disclosure

Last Updated: September 2026

ScarboroughLawyers.com is designed to help members of the public find lawyers who are available to provide legal services to clients in Scarborough and surrounding areas.

How the Service Works

When you tell us the type of legal assistance you are looking for, ScarboroughLawyers.com may identify participating lawyers or law firms that may be able to assist you.

You are always free to choose your own lawyer. You are under no obligation to retain any lawyer identified through ScarboroughLawyers.com, and you may choose a lawyer who does not participate in the service.

Lawyers participating in ScarboroughLawyers.com are independent legal professionals. They may or may not maintain a physical office in Scarborough, but they have indicated that they are available to provide legal services to clients in the area.

Referral Fees

ScarboroughLawyers.com is operated by or associated with an Ontario lawyer or law firm.

In some circumstances, the lawyer or law firm operating ScarboroughLawyers.com may receive a referral fee from the lawyer or law firm to whom a client is referred.

Any referral fee will be handled in accordance with the requirements of the Law Society of Ontario.

Where a referral fee is payable, any disclosure, client consent and referral agreement required by the Law Society of Ontario will be provided or obtained as applicable.

A referral fee will not increase the legal fees you are required to pay as a result of the referral.

The possibility of a referral fee does not affect your right to choose your own lawyer.

Participating Lawyers Are Independent

The inclusion of a lawyer or law firm on ScarboroughLawyers.com does not mean that the lawyer is an employee, partner or agent of ScarboroughLawyers.com.

Each participating lawyer or law firm is independently responsible for determining whether they can accept your matter, completing any necessary conflict checks, establishing a lawyer-client relationship, setting their fees and providing legal services.

No Lawyer-Client Relationship Until a Lawyer Accepts Your Matter

Submitting an inquiry through ScarboroughLawyers.com does not, by itself, create a lawyer-client relationship.

A lawyer-client relationship is established only when a lawyer or law firm agrees to act for you.

You should not assume that a lawyer is protecting your interests or any legal deadline until the lawyer has confirmed that they have accepted your matter.

Your Information

Information you submit through ScarboroughLawyers.com will be treated as confidential and handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

With your consent, information concerning your inquiry may be provided to the lawyer or law office you select, or to whom you authorize us to direct your inquiry, so that they can determine whether they are able to assist you.
